AUS-MEAT would like to congratulate

being the Inaugural Award Recipients for 2016.

 

Applications for the 2017 Duane Leadbetter Memorial Food Safety Study Award are now open.

The inaugural Award will be presented in August 2017 to two successful candidates, one from the Horticulture Industry and one from the Meat Processing Industry.

Eligible nominees will be over 18 years of age, will be working full time within the respective industry sector and be aspiring to be a Food Safety Auditor. She / he must have completed at least 12 months (minimum) continuous service in one of the sectors.

The nominees will be required to complete the Application Form (Click here to download) and present a short (less than 300 words) statement on why they should be awarded the study grant. The submission will be supported by their Employer and forwarded to the Selection Committee at ausmeat@ausmeat.com.au (AUS-MEAT) for Meat nominees and ausqual@ausqual.com.au (AUS-QUAL) for Horticulture nominees (Nominations for 2017 will close 31 July).

The successful nominee in each category will receive funds ($5,000) to complete a lead Auditor Food Safety Training course (qualification for both external and Internal Auditing) within 12 months of receiving the award. The funds will cover the cost of the attending the course (fees and Accommodation). By agreeing to participate the employer will need to allow the award recipient time to complete course.

AUS-MEAT/AUS-QUAL will cover out of pocket expenses including travel for the recipient to attend the presentation of the award in Brisbane. The Selection Committee will be made up of representatives from both industry and AUS-MEAT/AUS-QUAL.
